Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has confirmed that Switzerland is preparing to put Luxembourg back on its list of countries at high risk of COVID-19 infection.

From Monday 23 November 2020 (midnight Sunday to Monday), travellers entering Switzerland from Luxembourg will be obliged to go into a ten-day quarantine upon arrival. They are also required to declare their arrival to the competent cantonal authorities within two days of arrival.

Proof of a negative COVID-19 test result does not constitute grounds for exemption nor does it reduce the duration of this quarantine obligation.

Simple transit through Switzerland remains possible without any obligation to quarantine.

Exceptions will apply for people entering Switzerland for urgent professional or medical reasons which cannot be postponed. A list of all exemptions, which may differ from one canton to another, is available at www.admin.ch/opc/fr/classified-compilation/20201948/index.html.

Further information is available on the official websites of the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM). The Swiss authorities have also set up an infoline for people travelling to Switzerland: (+41) 584-644488 (available every day from 06:00 to 23:00).
