LuxairTours has announced that it was informed on Friday afternoon of a possible strike by air traffic controllers in Greece; if the strike occurs, no airliner could land or take off from a Greek airport between Saturday 9 October at 11:00 until Monday 10 October at 23:00.

The strike may affect a thousand customers of LuxairTours for which three flights are scheduled this Sunday 9 October, to Rhodes, Kos and Heraklion respectively. A total of 520 passengers are expected from Luxembourg, and 482 departing passengers from the three destinations.

Luxair has developed an action plan for its customers who would be minimally affected in the event of a strike. All passengers in Luxembourg will be contacted directly via their travel agency to inform them of the possibility of the strike; and this information is to be relayed to customers who are currently in Greece by LuxairTours guides.

If the strike takes place, flights to Greece initially planned for Sunday will be operated on Tuesday 11 October at the same times.

If passengers in Greece can not return to Luxembourg on Sunday 9 October because of the strike, Luxair will offer two additional nights in a hotel for guests in package tour and a discount on a future trip.

For passengers from Luxembourg, Luxair will offer three alternatives in case the strike will prevent them from departing this Sunday 9 October:

- Departure on Tuesday 11 October, with refund of two nights in a hotel for guests in package tour and a discount on a future trip.

- Change without charge of their booking for a later date and a discount on a future trip.

- No Cancellation charge of the reservation.

LuxairTours has stressed that it will continue to inform its customers affected by a possible strike in Greece on the evolution of the situation.
