On Friday 29 September 2025, Luxair has announced that its first Embraer E195-E2 aircraft is expected to be delivered to Luxembourg before the end of the year.
The aeroplane is now in the final stages of production at Embraer’s facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil, and is scheduled for delivery to Luxembourg before the end of the year. Passenger operations are expected to begin in January 2026.
This delivery marks the start of a long-term fleet renewal programme for the airline. Luxair has placed six firm orders for the E195-E2, with options for three additional aircraft, ensuring the flexibility to strengthen its European network while meeting its long-term ambitions and customer needs.
Gilles Feith, CEO of Luxair, stated: “The arrival of our first E195-E2 will mark a milestone for Luxair and for Luxembourg. It combines sustainability, efficiency and greater comfort for our passengers, while also introducing our refreshed brand identity - a strong statement about our ambitions for the future.”
The Embraer E2 family is recognised for its fuel efficiency and quiet operation, offering significant reductions in fuel consumption and noise compared to previous-generation aircraft. The aircraft features a spacious 2-2 seating layout and quieter cabin.
Luxair confirmed it will share further updates as the aircraft moves closer to delivery and the start of commercial service.
