POST Luxembourg has announced the lifting of the temporary suspension of postal deliveries to the United Kingdom.

Following the resumption of transport links with the UK, mail and parcel shipments to this destination resumed today, Friday 8 January 2021. As such, POST Luxembourg is once again accepting letters and parcels to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland .

All parcels and letters destined for the UK, deposited with POST Luxembourg before the temporary suspension (in effect since 22 December 2020), have been sent out.

Since 1 January 2021, trade in goods with the UK is no longer considered as intra-European trade, but as trade outside the European Union. Consequently, any type of shipment, which contains something other than documents, is subject to a number of customs formalities. Whilst POST Luxemborg postage costs remain unchanged, customers must now pay VAT and customs tax charges when the new regulations so require.

Due to the processing by customs authorities upon entry into the UK and possible disruption of transport links due to the health crisis, delivery times may be delayed.

Customs forms (CN22 and CN23) are available in POST points of sale and online at www.post.lu/particuliers/courrier/formalites-douanieres.
