From 30 October 2016, the companies FlibTravel International S.A. and Bohr Omnibus GmbH have started to operate the bus line from Cologne, via Düsseldorf to the airport of Weeze under the brand flibco.com.
This line, operated by Schilling Omnibus GmbH for the past thirteen years, will be served up to 5 times a day with modern, comfortable busses in the green and white flibco.com design. The airport of Weeze can still be reached by the same bus stops in Cologne and Düsseldorf.
For many years, the Bohr Omnibus GmbH and Schilling Omnibus GmbH companies cooperated in many areas. Therefore, it was obvious that the company Schilling have handed over this line to the company Bohr situated in Hunsrück. Shilling has withdrawn itself from the intercity business due to restructuring reasons. In the near future, a connection to further stops is planned.
Company owner Timo Bohr said "Our goal is to connect more and more people from the catchment area of Weeze Airport to our bus line in order to offer them a cost-effective and comfortable way to reach their departing hall."
As a 100% Luxembourgish company, specialised in transportation to the airports of Europe, flibco.com is always aiming to improve and expand its network. This new line to the airport of Weeze corresponds to its philosophy, namely to strive for continuous development. This is also reflected in the already existing lines to the airports of Charleroi, Frankfurt am Main, Frankfurt-Hahn, Baden-Airpark, Luxembourg, Larnaca and Paphos.
Since January 2016, the companies flibco.com and Bohr have operated the line from Luxembourg via Trier to the airport of Frankfurt-Hahn and to the city of Frankfurt am Main. The two companies want to expand this successful cooperation further through the connection to the airport of Weeze. Paul De Muynck, CEO of flibco.com, stated about this new line: "flibco.com has been cooperating with Bohr for several years. Through this further line, we multiply the advantages of both companies. Actually, flibco.com and the German transport company Bohr can gain profit, characterised by increasing their catchment area. The passengers of Weeze Airport can begin their journey in the greatest comfort of our shuttles and avoid the unnecessary stress on the roads!"
The airport of Weeze is ideally located on the Dutch border, in the western part of Germany in the North Rhine-Westphalia region. With almost 2 million passengers in 2015, Weeze Airport is one of the big airports in North Rhine-Westphalia. In addition, more than 10 million people live in less than 1 hour’s drive away from the airport. The main partner is the low-cost company Ryanair.
