The Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) has unveiled its programme for its flagship summer events, which will run from Friday 12 June 2026 to Friday 18 September 2026 across Luxembourg City.

The agenda for the 31st Summer in the City event is described by the LCTO as “a summer dedicated to culture, music and discovery” and invites residents and visitors to the country’s capital to enjoy a summer “filled with colour, music and unforgettable experiences”.

This summer programme is the result of close collaboration between the City of Luxembourg (VdL), the LCTO and numerous partners and cultural organisations across the capital and is set to feature “memorable experiences in exceptional locations”.

Visits to the Grand Ducal Palace

Among the programme’s highlights are the guided tours of the Grand Ducal Palace. From Saturday 18 July to Sunday 30 August, the official residence of the Grand Duke will open its doors to the public, offering a fascinating insight into the history, architecture and traditions of the Luxembourg monarchy.

As these tours are extremely popular each year, advance booking is recommended. Advance ticket sales will begin on Wednesday 24 June at the LCTO reception desk on Place Guillaume II (Knuedler) and online at www.luxembourg-city.com.

Throughout the summer, the LCTO will also offer numerous guided and themed tours, enabling visitors to discover the history, culture and hidden treasures of the capital from an original perspective.

Major Open-Air Musical Events

To mark National Day, national and international artists will bring the city to life during “City Sounds” on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 June at Glacis and various locations across the capital, creating a festive atmosphere and unforgettable musical moments.

From Friday 3 July to Sunday 5 July, the concert series “Kinnekswiss loves…” will invite the public to enjoy open-air evenings in the green surroundings of the municipal park, combining music with a unique atmosphere.

Music lovers can also look forward to the legendary Blues’n’Jazz Rallye on Saturday 18 July. From 16:00 onwards, more than 40 bands and brass ensembles will perform in the districts of Clausen, Grund and Pfaffenthal, which will be transformed into one vast open-air stage for the occasion.

Schueberfouer – The Highlight of the Summer

The Schueberfouer, taking place from Friday 21 August to Wednesday 9 September at Glacis, will mark the traditional conclusion of “Summer in the City”. As the country’s largest funfair, its origins date back to 1340 and it attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year thanks to its spectacular attractions, culinary specialities and unrivalled atmosphere.
