The European Parliament Liaison Office in Luxembourg has announced its programme for Europe Day.

On Saturday 9 May 2026, from 10:00 to 18:00, members of the public are invited to celebrate Europe Day at the Europa Experience visitor centre and the Konrad Adenauer building in Luxembourg-Kirchberg (17 Avenue John F. Kennedy). For the first time, the sixteenth floor of the tower will be open to the public.

The European Parliament Liaison Office recalled that 9 May - a public holiday in Luxembourg - commemorates the 1950 Schuman Declaration. It is an opportunity for the European Union (EU) to celebrate the lasting unity and peace it has achieved.

The programme includes children's activities, presentations, discussions with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), quizzes, information stands, guided tours, food trucks, an opportunity to experience the work of translators and interpreters, and more. The event is free and open to all.

Participating information stands include: the European Parliament Liaison Office in Luxembourg; job and internship opportunities at the European Parliament; European Parliament translators and interpreters; security at the European Parliament; Ask EP; digital accessibility; the Zentrum fir politesch Bildung (Centre for Citizenship Education); the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO); the European Commission with Europe Direct Luxembourg; Luxembourg's Ministry of Family Affairs, Solidarities, Living Together and Reception of Refugees.

Children's activities include book readings, notably "Anna learns a new language", taking place in English from 11:00 to 11:30, in German from 11:30 to 12:00 and in French from 12:00 to 12:30.

Guided tours of the European Parliament tower are available, although prior registration is required. Visitors can also join guided tours of the Europa Experience centre, which is hosting a temporary exhibition on disinformation.

Attendees will also be able to test their knowledge in an EU Quiz and attend a series of mini-conferences (from 14:00 to 17:30).

The Europe Day celebrations will continue in Wiltz on Sunday 10 May 2026; for details, see: https://chronicle.lu/category/at-home/60812-wiltz-to-host-europe-day-celebrations-in-presence-of-grand-duke
