On Tuesday 28 April 2026, the City of Luxembourg (VdL) announced a new season of open-air concerts, titled “Plëss in Concert”, which take place on Place d’Armes in Luxembourg-Ville between May and September.
The VdL said that from Friday 1 May to Sunday 6 September, no fewer than 80 concerts are scheduled to take place on Place d’Armes featuring an “eclectic programme” which will showcase a wide variety of artists and musical styles, designed to appeal to a broad audience.
In addition, the VdL announced that several themed evenings will punctuate the season, offering audiences a unique musical experience.
The VdL said: “Entertainment, and in particular concerts at Place d’Armes, have a long tradition: although the current kiosk dates only from 1933, a kiosk already stood on this square in 1875, hosting brass bands, harmonies, jazz ensembles, classical groups, big bands and other ambient music performances. In the very place where military concerts were a regular feature in the mid-nineteenth century, today musicians of all kinds perform, to the great enjoyment of the public seated comfortably on one of the many terraces lining the square, in the shade beneath the large plane trees.”
