On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) has announced a special guided tour “Siegfried & Melusina - a Luxembourg love story”, which will take place from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 February 2026.

The tour will be dedicated to one of Luxembourg’s most famous love stories of Count Siegfried and Melusina, the mysterious mermaid, whose meeting, love and a broken promise have shaped local folklore for centuries and remain closely linked to the city today.

Participants will have the opportunity to follow the legend through key locations connected to the story, tracing the origins of Luxembourg City.

The route will lead to the Bock rock, through the old town and towards the historic fortifications, blending storytelling with mystical elements and turning the city itself into “the setting of the legend”.

LCTO said the tour targets both couples and single visitors, as conversations tend to flow naturally while strolling through the historic streets.

Furthermore, at the end of the route in the Bock Casemates, near the fountain where Melusina, according to legend, once disappeared into the depths of the Alzette river, participants will find a photo booth. Afterwards, visitors can explore the underground galleries of the Bock Casemates independently and at their own pace.

The tour, which lasts approximately one hour, will run at different times and in several languages, including French, English, Luxembourgish and German. The meeting place will be in front of the LCTO on Knuedler, 30 Place Guillaume II in Luxembourg-Ville.

Tickets cost €20 per adult, €18.40 for students and seniors and €10 for children aged four to twelve, while younger children may enter free of charge. The price includes admission to the Bock Casemates.

Visitors can make reservations via luxembourg-city.com or directly at the tourist office.
