The Embassy of Japan in Luxembourg has announced a cultural evening featuring French-language rakugo, a traditional form of Japanese storytelling, to be held on Tuesday 28 October 2025 at 19:00 at the Centre Culturel Schéiss in Luxembourg City.
Rakugo is a traditional Japanese theatrical art in which a single performer, known as a rakugoka, plays all the roles. Sitting on a cushion and using only a handkerchief and a fan as props, the storyteller brings to life humorous anecdotes, everyday tales and legends, offering audiences a combination of performance, wit and imagination.
The evening will feature Cyril Coppini, rakugoka and translator of Japanese manga into French.
Entry is free but registration is required. Further information and the registration form are available here.
