The launch of the 2025 edition of the "Lëtzebuerg, dat ass Vakanz!" (Luxembourg, that's a holiday!) promotional campaign, focusing on the theme of natural heritage, will take place from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 April 2025 in Place d'Armes in Luxembourg-Ville.
On Friday, Luxembourg’s Minister Delegate for Tourism, Eric Thill, launched the 2025 edition of "Lëtzebuerg, dat ass Vakanz!" in the presence of Luxembourg City Mayor, Lydie Polfer, and First Alderman of the City of Luxembourg, Maurice Bauer. Organised by the Ministry of the Economy, the initiative aims to encourage residents and cross-border workers to (re)discover the richness of Luxembourg's different regions from a specific tourism perspective, while promoting sustainable and inclusive tourism.
This year, the campaign will highlight Luxembourg's natural heritage, a tourist attraction that is an integral part of Luxembourg's identity, with its natural parks, geological sites, rivers and lakes, as well as its forests and nature reserves.
The campaign launch event, which symbolises the official opening of the tourist season, brought together key tourism stakeholders such as the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) and the Regional Tourist Offices (ORT), as well as regional producers and winegrowers. Various demonstrations, information stands and free guided tours are featured on the programme offered over the three days of the event.
The natural heritage sites, attractions and events that will be highlighted through the end of the year as part of the campaign are published on https://www.visitluxembourg.com/letzebuerg-dat-ass-vakanz.
The sixth edition of "Vëlosummer", a cycling initiative organised by the Ministry of the Economy and the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works, in close collaboration with the relevant municipalities, the Regional Tourist Offices (ORTs) and the National Roads Administration, will be held from Saturday 19 July to Sunday 24 August 2025. This year, fourteen cycle routes have been selected, covering more than 500 kilometres across the country. The full programme for this major cycling tourism event will be unveiled in mid-June on https://www.visitluxembourg.com/velosummer.
The ninth edition of "Guide for One Day" will take place from Saturday 21 June to Saturday 27 September 2025. Those interested in participating will be able to submit their guided tour proposals, from Monday 12 May 2025, via https://guideforoneday.lu. Members of the public can register online for free, from Monday 2 June 2025, to participate in these unique tours, led by guides for one day.
The Luxembourg Tourism Awards, sponsored by the Ministry of the Economy, celebrate the dynamism and richness of Luxembourg's tourism landscape. For their third edition, these awards will honour outstanding projects in the fields of gastronomy, accommodation, community engagement, innovation and volunteering. Applications can be submitted from Monday 28 April 2025, on https://tourismawards.lu/en/
