The Upper Sûre Nature Park has announced that it will once again offer the opportunity to discover the largest drinking water reservoir in Luxembourg from another perspective, during a guided solar-powered boat tour, available from 1 May until 1 October.

Along the way, details about the flora and fauna and facts about the Upper Sûre lake will be revealed,  including the history of the lake and the region, and the protection of drinking water. In addition to various forays into isolated tributaries, a detour to dry land is also planned to discover the Burfelt forest discovery centre.

The ecological excursion lasts approximately two hours. The solar-powered boat can accommodate up to 23 passengers and operates at fixed times as follows:

• once a day from 1 May to 14 June and from 1 September to 1 October at 15:00;
• three times a day from 15 June to 31 August at 10:00, 13:45 and 16:00;
• there are no trips on Monday.

According to the Upper Sûre Nature Park, since its launch in 2002, the solar-powered boat has become a popular attraction in the Haute-Sûre Natural Park and welcomes an average of 3,300 passengers per season. Due to its popularity, reservations in advance are recommended. Those interested can also check online for availability on their preferred date via https://www.naturpark-sure.lu/en/offer/das-solarboot/.

Solar-powered boat trips can also be offered: vouchers can be issued for a certain number of people or the entire boat can be reserved. Gift vouchers are available on working days at the Parc Naturel boutique in Esch-sur-Sûre (15, rue de Lultzhausen) and can also be ordered by email and sent by post on request.

School classes, associations and other groups can discover the drinking water reservoir by solar-powered boat. For groups of more than 23 people, the excursion is organised so that part of the group takes part in the outward journey by solar boat while the other part goes for a walk to the Burfelt forest discovery centre, and vice versa.

Reservations are available by tel.: 8993-311 or by mail: info@naturpark-sure.lu.
