On Friday 26 and Saturday 27 April 2024, the City of Luxembourg and the Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte Residence (Konviktsgaart) will organise an open-day event.

This event is intended as an opportunity to interact with the teams, to visit the residence and to participate in a friendly activity with residents.

The public can come from 08:30 to have a croissant and coffee. Guided tours of the accommodation will be available throughout the day in Luxembourgish and French. The Konviktsgaart will also offer a lunch for €20, drinks not included. Various information stands, a candle workshop with a beekeeper as well as a pétanque game (or Bingo in case of rain) are planned.

Located in a quiet, green and secure setting and yet a few minutes from the city centre and near a bus stop, the Konviktsgaart is made up of 103 comfortable accommodations, with a living space varying between 39 and 55 m2, and seven “short stay” rooms (holiday beds) for people aged over 65. Konviktsgaart also offers various related services, such as a restaurant, a cafeteria, a grocery store, a hairdressing salon, a bank counter, a library, a laundry room and an underground car park. The offer is completed by the weekly celebration of a mass in the Konviktsgaart chapel, gentle gym and dance classes for the elderly and regular activities and outings (concerts, cultural, friendly and culinary meetings) organised within the centre.

For those who are unable to participate in the open days, a virtual tour of the residence is available on konviktsgaart.vdl.lu. Registration is required for the guided tours and lunch, to be booked via tel.: 250 650-1 (from 14:00 to 20:00) or via email: konviktsgaart@vdl.lu.
