The Centre des Arts Pluriels Ettelbruck (CAPE) has announced it is putting on its first musical in English on Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 May 2024 at 18:00.
This CAPE production, called The Last Five Years, is starring the singer Jil Clesse in the lead role. It is a musical by Jason Robert Brown, directed by Joyce Diedrich, telling the tale of Cathy and Jamie, two young lovers embarking on their careers. Cathy aspires to stardom as an actress, while Jamie seeks literary success. Despite their love, their ambitions, along with a mix of hubris, desire and insecurity, strain their relationship. Composer Jason Robert Brown crafted the love story from opposite ends of the timeline: Cathy's journey starts at the end, while Jamie's begins at the outset of their romance.
The cast and creative team comprise artists from theatres across Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Luxembourg. The play was originally produced for the New York stage by Arielle Tepper and Marty Bell (Northlight Theatre Chicago, IL).
Tickets cost €31, €15,50 for students and can be reserved at the following link: https://ticket.luxembourg-ticket.lu/eventim.webshop/webticket/bestseatselect?eventId=35355.
