This week, the Philharmonie in Luxembourg-Kirchberg is putting on its traditional Christmas programme.

While the Familljefestival Chrëschtdag (family Christmas festival) took place this past weekend, on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 December, this coming week sees two more Christmas concerts on Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 December 2023, both at 19:30 in the Grand Auditorium.

Music surrounds us in the time leading up to Christmas, setting the tone and creating a festive atmosphere. Even nicer than listening via headphones or loudspeaker is enjoying it live at a great concert hall such as the Philharmonie – especially when there is not only a full-size orchestra on stage, but several children’s and youth choirs. This makes the experience even more intense, not to mention interactive: as every year, the audience is invited to sing along heartily when the most beautiful carols of the season resound.

The two concerts feature the Luxembourg Philharmonic orchestra conducted by Pierre Cao and Pierre Nimax, with no less than three choirs: the Chœur de Chambre du Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, the Chanteurs du chœur de l'INECC Luxembourg and Pueri Cantores du Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg.

Tickets are available online at https://www.philharmonie.lu or via tel: 2632-2632 (€55, €40, €25; U30s €33, €24, €15; U12s €12), with tickets also available at the door.

The Philharmonie's traditional Christmas concert on 21 December is being held for the benefit of the EME Foundation and will be broadcast live on its social networks.
