The Amnéville Zoological Park (near Metz in France), has a unique festival over the winter period, from the end of October 2022 until late March 2023.
The Luminescence festival is the largest light festival in the Grand-Est (region of France): this enchanted journey (on foot) offers an explosive cocktail of wonder, colours and surprises along the paths of the extraordinary garden which has been illuminated by 900 luminous subjects and 7,000+ decorations in the form of animals and plants. The walk is around a magical 1.4 km route that takes one through 6 luminous and sound universes.
The Luminescences project took a year and a half to build, with Amnéville Zoo teaming up with the Chinese company Lantern Group. A total of 25 people (20 people from Lantern Group and about 5 people from inside the zoo) took two months to install the festival, following design and manufacture. 2 months of installation, comprising 8,000 hours of work by electricians, landscapers, carpenters, staff trained in working at height and driving special machinery, graphic and creative designers...

With an entry ticket, the walk can be repeated as many times as you wish.
Luminescence Festival opening hours
The Luminescence festival is open every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays; it will also be open every day during school holidays.
