The City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) has announced that it is organising a new youth edition of the "Rencontres sans frontières" (meetings without borders) event at the Boy Konen sports complex in Cessange on Sunday 19 June 2022, from 11:00 to 20:00.

This focus of this year's event will be on youth engagement, which ties in with 2022 being declared the European Year of Youth.

The day, which is being organised together with the Liaison and Action Committee for Foreigners (Comité de Liaison des Associations d'Etrangers - CLAE), emphasises sports and intercultural exchange and reflects the VdL's desire to promote the integration of its many resident nationalities through sport and culture.

On the programme are football and beach volleyball tournaments, cycling activities, a graffiti workshop and an intercultural party for the whole family.

Football tournaments are open to participants aged six and over, whilst beach the beach volleyball tournament is open to those aged thirteen and over. Several football tournaments will be played in different age categories: 6-8 years old, 9-11 years old, 12-14 years old, 15-17 years old and 18+.

Several activities are planned from at Boy Konen Bike Park from 12:00, including Table-Line, Enduro-Track, North-Shore, Pumptrack and BMX-Track courses. Registration will be take place on the day itself from 11:00. Bicycles will be made available to participants within the limits of available stock. The minimum age for participation is ten years old.

A unique workshop will allow young people to discover and try their hand at graffiti. Supervised by a street art expert, participants will be able to familiarise themselves with the techniques of this urban art.

Throughout the day, various other activities will be organised for all ages, from sports workshops and demonstrations and music and dances from the communities present to activities for children.

There will also be food stands on site, allowing spectators and participants to discover the specialties of different countries.
