At a press conference on Friday, Guy Daleiden, Director of Film Fund Luxembourg, presented the Fund's new initiatives and collaborations within the framework of virtual reality (VR).

Film Fund Luxembourg, in collaboration with the Luxembourg City Film Festival and Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art contemporain, will be presenting, from 9 to 20 June 2021, a unique virtual event initiated by NewImages Festival, the festival of digital creation and virtual worlds of Paris, the Tribeca Film Festival in New York and Cannes XR.

This special event will take place in a virtual space, the “Museum of other Realities”, and will offer a selection of thirteen international, innovative and experimental works in VR and XR (Extended Reality), including six world premieres and three works selected in the “Immersive” category of the Tribeca Film Festival 2021.

This international exhibition will be accessible to all corners of the world through a network of partner satellite venues (including Luxembourg).

Access to the exhibition and to the four VR stations will be free during the usual opening hours of Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art contemporain, in accordance with the health regulations in force.

Further information on the programme is available at www.luxfilmfest.lu/en/newimages.

Guy Daleiden also announced the establishment of a VR pavilion as part of the 2021 edition of the “Alin & Art” cultural workshops organised by Lycée Aline Mayrisch in Luxembourg; these workshops aim to give students a taste for artistic expression.

From 14 to 16 June, Film Fund Luxembourg will offer a dozen VR headsets to allow secondary school students (all classes) to discover the immersive works of the 2021 edition of the Virtual Reality Pavilion presented, in collaboration with the Center PHI of Montreal, in Neumünster Abbey (neimënster) last March.

In addition, although the extension of the VR Pavilion 2021 ended on 30 May, a small space dedicated to the selection of the VR Pavilion will remain operational in the visitor reception area at neimënster. Building on its success, the VR to Go formula will also remain available until the end of summer 2021.
