The Caisse Médico-Complémentaire Mutualiste (CMCM), Luxembourg's biggest health mutual, has announced the inauguration of an inclusive playground at Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg.
Built with the support of the CMCM, this playground has been set up in the central playground of this amusement park in Bettembourg. The inauguration took place on Friday 14 May 2021 in the presence of decision makers from APEMH, CMCM and Luximaj, the site builder.
This safe and specially adapted play area is accessible to all and meets the accessibility standards for people with disabilities. Accordingly, CMCM has also taken charge of the acquisition and installation of a defibrillator, which has now been installed near the entrance to the site.
Fabio Secci, General Manager of CMCM, explained: "CMCM is proud to support this innovative project which reflects CMCM's commitment to being accessible to everyone. Thanks to the use of special equipment and games, this playground will enable all children to play together, whether they are ablebodied or have some type of disability. Inclusion is one of the driving forces of CMCM and we believe that all children should have access to play".
This site, accessible to children aged four and over, is now open to the public and offers a play area including balance and swinging games, a play structure and an integrative turnstile for people in wheelchairs. The play area includes wooden games with elements reminiscent of the hospital world: a helicopter, an ambulance, etc.
