The municipality of Mamer has announced the cancellation of its “Winter Moments” festivities due to the rising number of COVID-19 infections in Luxembourg.
In light of the evolution of coronavirus infections and the number of COVID-19 patients, the alderman college of the municipality of Mamer decided in its session today to cancel its winter festivities. "Mamer Winter Moments" had been scheduled to take place from 27 November 2020 until 3 January 2021.
The cancellation includes the ice skating rink, the Christmas market and the evenings and festivities of the Grand Chalet Suisse, as well as the Christmas lunch for senior citizens and the New Year's Eve Gala.
The alderman college attributed its decision to health and safety concerns in the context of the pandemic. The municipal authorities will decide on the organisation of new cultural activities as the health situation and related measures evolve.
