Neumünster Abbey (neimënster) has announced that it is holding an open day on its site in Luxembourg-Grund on Saturday 17 October 2020, from 11:00.

Inaugurated in 2004, neimënster quickly found its place in the Luxembourg cultural landscape. A meeting place, a place of creation and artist residencies, the site has had an eventful history. A former abbey converted into a sordid prison and compulsory passage for thousands of deportees during World War II, neimënster is today a place of discovery, exchange and cultural daring.

On the occasion of its open day, neimënster is offering visitors a family-friendly programme, as well as performances by the dancer and choreographer Anne-Mareike Hess and the dancer and actress Catherine Elsen, comic strip workshops and a visit to the studio of visual artist in residence, and much more. After a concert by Martha Da’ro, the public will be able to extend the evening with the sound of electro beats from an exceptional set by Pol Belardi and Pit Dahm behind the decks and DJ Kornelia.

Guided tours will be held at 13:00, 14:00 and 17:30. Small catering will be available throughout the day.

Entry is free but registration is mandatory. For further information is available at www.neimenster.lu.
