On Tuesday 16 July 2019, a new fitness zone in Parc Laval Park in Luxembourg-Weimerskirsch was inaugurated by the Mayor and Aldermen of the Ville de Luxembourg.

Spanning an area of 170 m2, the fitness zone includes 10 apparatus to practice cardiovascular exercises, bodybuilding, coordination exercises and stretching. Signs mounted on the apparatus provide the public with explanations on the correct use of the equipment as well as on the parts of the body that are particularly stressed during the exercise.

With free access, this new fitness zone in the Parc Laval provides another outdoor fitness facility around Luxembourg city and allows members of the public to enjoy a full training workout. It is the result of a youth forum organised by the Youth and Social Action Department of the Ville de Luxembourg and responds to a concrete demand from young people in the Muhlenbach and Eich districts.

The implementation of the project was carried out by the Parks Service in close collaboration with the "Amigo" youth centre. The maintenance of the fitness area is provided by the Parks Department.

The project had an overall budget of €152,130.10.
