As part of Asteroid Day 2019, the Luxembourg Space Agency has invited the public to meet and exchange with three astronauts on Saturday 29 June 2019 between 13:30 and 15:30 at Cercle Cité in Place d'Armes (Luxembourg-Ville).

In addition to meeting the astronauts, participants in this free event will have the chance to meet with experts in planetary sciences, take part in a telescope building workshop or visit a stand with a planetarium offered by the Luxembourg Science Centre and the National Museum of Natural History. SES, the world's leading satellite operator based in Betzdorf, will also be present at Cercle Cité with a booth for children.

The proposed activities aim to raise awareness among young people on the subject of space exploration and to encourage scientific vocations, particularly regarding the sectors of space and astronomy.

The event will take place in the framework of Asteroid Day, which takes the form of a 24-hour global broadcast on https://asteroidday.org/ including debates and interviews with experts, scientists and even astronauts about space and the role played by asteroids in the solar system. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy, Étienne Schneider, and Marc Serres, CEO of the Luxembourg Space Agency, will be speaking live from noon on Friday 28 June 2019.
