Due to the tram works in Luxembourg city centre, and particularly along the Avenue de la Liberté, where the traditional military parade takes place on 23 June, Luxembourg's national day, this year it will be moved to the Avenue JF Kennedy in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
The 3rd annual Arméifest will take place on Place de l'Europe in Kirchberg from 13:30 until 16:00 where members of the public will be offered glasses of crémant and snacks. Also on display will be military equipment and vehicles, both from the Luxembourg Army and the Grand Ducal Police.
The former AWACS musical group, an army volunteer band founded in 1982, will provide musical accompaniment.
Earlier in the day, the national day festivities will commence at 10:00 with a concert at the Philharmonie, and a 21-canon salute at 11:00 from Fetschenhof. The military parade will take place along Ave JF Kennedy at the intersection of rue des Coquelicots from midday, with the Te Deum in Notre Dame Cathedral at 16:30.
