Tomorrow, 9 May 2018, the European Union will celebrate the anniversary of its foundation, with a European Village on Place d'Armes opening at 12:30, with the official part of the event closing with the cutting and distribution of the great European cake around 13.00 hours.

The European Village will comprise 39 information stands and will remain open until 17:30 when it will featuers a release of balloons in European colours. Between 11:00 and 19:00, the European village will be animated by a large and varied cultural programme of music, dance, singing and folklore, where members of the public will discover the particularities of tourism in the different Member States.

The day is held in commemoration of the 1950 Robert Schuman Declaration; this year's theme will be youth and the future of Europe.

A number of other activities and initiatives will take place during the day.​
