Mullerthal Trail;
On Sunday 6 May 2018, the hiking season in the Mullerthal Region will be officially launched with the hiking event Mullerthal Trail Season Opening; participants will experience a day full of fun and outdoor excitement.
At 09:00 the guided hikes will start from three different departure points. All the tracks will pass over Mullerthal Trail Route 1 and lead to Mompach. It is possible to hike without a guide as well.
Track 1: Echternach Gare-Rosport-Girsterklaus-Mompach 22.9 km. Departure and parking are at the busstation/gare des autobus in Echternach.
Track 2: Rosport-Girsterklaus-Mompach, 14.2 km. Departure is at the church in Rosport. Parking places are available next to the school in Rosport, Campus scolaire et sportif „Am Bongert“, 4 rue Luc Bonblet.
Track 3: Echternach lake-Herborn-Mompach, 12.6 km. Departure is at the lake of Echternach, on the big parking lot, route de Luxembourg.
As two tracks pass at Girsterklaus, a supply stand will be provided there.
When the first hikers arrive in Mompach around lunchtime, a programme consisting of, among others, a concert, a bouncy castle, a workshop by Musée Tudor and the making of wooden sculptures by chainsaw. The nature administation will also offer tours in their horse carriage. The local clubs of the municipality of Rosport-Mompach will provide food and beverage; stands will offer regional products and inform about the attractions.
Shuttle buses (free of charge) will take the hikers back to their departure after 13:00. Those participating should register for the hikes and inform the organisers which itinerary they would like to choose so that they can organise the shuttle properly.
The hikes, the shuttle and the animations are free of charge.
