The last of six Yuppi-Walks this year, organised in collaboration with Cactus and the Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Marche Populaire (FLMP), took place on 15 October 2017 in Dudelange.
991 children have taken part in the various walks held this year in Lieler, Ettelbruck, Bertrange, Itzig, at the National Day of the Popular March in Beckerich and finally in Dudelange. In addition to the country walk accompanied by parents and grandparents, fun and educational games were offered for the children along the way.
Yuppi gave a gift to the 93 children who participated in at least four Yuppi-Walks while the FLMP offered a cup to the 50 Yuppi-Walkers who missed none of the six events. A diploma was also given to faithful walkers.
All 513 children enrolled have also received a brand new FLMP license for young people that the popular walking federation offers free to under 14s.
At the same time, the Butze-Walk with 42 "Butzen" was held for children up to three years old. They too received a gift from the FLMP, seven of them for participation in a minimum of four walks and two for having participated in a total of six walks.
Cactus and the Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Marche Populaire have agreed to organise six Yuppi-Walks for children up to 12 years old next year.
