On Monday 23 March 2026, Luxembourg’s Ministry of Health reported that manufacturer Qualiphar has announced the recall of Toularynx Dextromethorphan 1.5 mg/ml cough syrup due to a potential risk of glass particles in some bottles.

According to the ministry, the recall is a precautionary measure following the discovery of a visible fragment of glass which was found in one bottle from batch 61075 of the product.

The ministry emphasised that although all available samples from this batch have been carefully checked and do not contain glass particles, and no other reports have been received, it cannot be completely ruled out that other bottles containing glass particles are still in circulation. Ingestion may be dangerous, which is why the batch is being recalled.

Anyone who has this syrup at home is asked to check the batch number on the packaging. If it corresponds to batch 61075, the product must not be used. The bottle should be returned to a pharmacy, where it will be taken care of.
