On Monday 2 February 2026, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) announced yet another infant formula recall.
The following product has been recalled due to the possible presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by the bacterium Bacillus cereus: Popote brand stage one ("1er Âge") infant formula, 800 g; use by date: 9 September 2027; barcode: 3760262841298; lot number 910077.
According to the ALVA, the product may have been distributed at various points of sale in Luxembourg.
Consumption of the product may result in digestive issues, notably vomiting.
The authorities shared the following advice to affected customers:
- do not use / consume the product;
- take a photo of the lot number on the box and send it together with one's RIB banking details certificate via email to service-conso@popote-bb.fr;
- there is no need to return the box to the shop nor to send it back to Popote (one is free to discard the box);
- consult one's paediatrician in case of doubt or symptoms such as vomiting and / or abdominal pain (between 30 minutes and six hours after consumption).
