On Thursday 8 January 2026, Luxembourg-based independent brewery, Twisted Cat, launched its Alcohol-Free IPA, which it reported to be the only alcohol-free beer currently available on draft in Luxembourg bars.

According to the brewers, the new Alcohol-Free IPA contains 0.4% and is “aromatic, balanced and full-bodied”. It is designed to offer “the taste and mouthfeel” of a true craft IPA, without the alcohol. The same recipe previously received international recognition at the World Beer Awards 2021 when released in a bottle, and is now available on draft for the first time in Luxembourg.

Twisted Cat noted that the beverage is “created for social occasions and longer evenings, allowing drinkers to remain part of the beer ritual while choosing a lighter option”. The launch aims to reflect the beer producer’s wider philosophy of brewing beers with reduced alcohol content while “preserving character, texture and enjoyment”.

This year, Luxembourg is taking part in its first Dry January® initiative (EMBED: https://chronicle.lu/category/medical/58551-luxembourg-to-take-part-in-dry-january-for-1st-time), encouraging more mindful consumption. In this context, Twisted Cat said it aims to offer bars and consumers a credible alcohol-free alternative that fully belongs on the tap line.

“The future of beer worldwide is moving toward lower alcohol beers with full flavour,” said Thomas Hickey, co-founder of Twisted Cat. “Twisted Cat is ready to lead that movement in Luxembourg,” he continued.
