On Tuesday 6 January 2026, Brasserie Nationale (Bofferding National Brewery) officially launched its first alcohol-free beer.
The Luxembourg brewery said its decision to launch an alcohol-free version of its signature Bofferding Pils was in recognition of changing consumer habits and the establishment of alcohol-free options as a lasting trend.
It said: “Increasingly mindful of their health and well-being, consumers are seeking alternatives that allow them to combine enjoyment with moderation. Driven in particular by Dry January, this segment has now become a key fixture at the start of the year.”
Brasserie Nationale highlighted that the alcohol-free beer remains true to the brand’s DNA and reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and to developing its brands in line with market expectations.
According to the brewery, Bofferding alcohol-free beer is brewed using the same ingredients as Bofferding Pils and, by utilising a brewing process that remains 100% natural, the alcohol is removed without compromising on taste and without any added sugar – creating an alcohol-free offering it said is still relatively rare on the market. It noted: “One hundred per cent natural and one hundred per cent Luxembourgish, it reflects the expertise of Brasserie Nationale.”
Bofferding alcohol-free beer is now available across all supermarkets in the Grand Duchy.
