On Tuesday 25 November 2025, POST Luxembourg issued several new special stamps, including its annual Christmas celebration and end-of-year charity series.
The November 2025 issue of Philatelux showcases the new stamps and provides detailed information on their features and designs.
Claude Balthasar, head of the heritage department and POST Philately, noted: "POST Philately's year traditionally ends with the stamps to mark the end-of-year celebrations and the charity series."
This year's two festive stamps celebrate the Christmas markets. Designed by Luxembourg-based British artist Ben Carter, the stamps "convey a discreet festive mood whilst remaining stylish and balanced", according to Philatelux. One of the stamps highlights the "Winterlights" market in Luxembourg City, featuring the iconic Ferris wheel, while the other depicts the Christmas pyramid in Esch-sur-Alzette.
The latest charity stamps feature a variety of orchid specimens, completing the "Orchids in Luxembourg" series launched in 2022, in cooperation with the National Museum of Natural History (naturmusée) and the Fondation Hëllef fir d'Natur.
In addition, POST Luxembourg has issued a joint stamp with Vatican City, on the centenary of the creation of the Pontifical Institute for Christian Archaeology (PIAC), as well as new "Postocollant" motifs, featuring the stained glass windows of the Grand Ducal Palace.
The new stamps are available via the POST Philately online shop (www.postphilately.lu), at the Philatelic Counter at POST Luxembourg-Gare and in all POST branches and post offices.
