On Wednesday 22 October 2025, the College of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Luxembourg (VdL) inaugurated four new pop-up stores located in the city centre as well as in the Gare district.
Casa Baffone, located at 58 Avenue de la Liberté, is a “welcoming space celebrating authentic Italian cuisine”. It offers homemade pasta, pinsa romana, pizzas, salads, XXL sandwiches and a selection of gourmet desserts and Italian ice creams. The venue offers eat-in and takeaway options, “a fine grocery section” featuring Italian products, and space for art exhibitions or private events.
Holocher, at 38 Rue Philippe II, showcases premium modular kitchens from Holzkunst Holocher, in Germany, combining local craftsmanship with “cutting-edge” robotic technology. The showroom offers visitors a “unique sensory experience” with interactive elements such as voice-controlled kitchen islands.
Julie and Charlotte, at 43 Grand-Rue, is a boutique “where craftsmanship meets artistic expression”. Visitors can discover handmade acrylic glass jewellery, photographs and other works by artists and artisans. Designed as a space for discovery, the boutique serves as a meeting point for creators and visitors.
Miss Sybel, located at 40 Rue Philippe II, is a fashion boutique offering unique clothing, shoes and accessories created by European designers known for their artisanal expertise. Each item is “carefully selected for its elegance, quality and distinctive character”.
Through the "pop-up stores" project, the VdL offers creators, entrepreneurs and startups the opportunity to test their product, service or concept in direct contact with their customers, by providing short-term rental of commercial spaces. The concept is designed to serve as a springboard for tenants who can consolidate their professional experience before launching definitively into commerce. The VdL added that pop-up stores contribute to the "creation of a rich commercial offer" and to "attracting a diverse public" to the city centre.
Owners of temporarily unoccupied commercial spaces wishing to join the project can contact the Economic and Commercial Development Unit of the City of Luxembourg via tel.: 4796-5000 (Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00) or via email: dec@vdl.lu.
