
On Thursday 13 March 2025, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) announced the recall of free-range eggs and barn eggs from the company Depo-Ei CV due to the possible presence of salmonella.
The following products have been recalled:
- Depo-Ei CV Free-range eggs with stamped codes 1-BE-306401 and 1BE306402; use by dates ranging from 27/01/2025 to 24/03/2025 inclusive; the product was sold between 01/01/2025 and 12/03/2025
- Depo-Ei CV Barn eggs with stamped code 2BE306403; use by dates ranging from 27/01/2025 to 24/03/2025 inclusive; the product was sold between 01/01/2025 and 12/03/2025
ALVA recalled that salmonella can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, fever and headache within six to 72 hours after consumption. These symptoms may be aggravated in young children, immunocompromised individuals and the elderly. People who have consumed the aforementioned products and display such symptoms are invited to consult a doctor.
