The Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) has announced the recall of various food products sold in the Grand Duchy due to possible health risks.
ALVA has recalled the following products:
- Small Quinoa Nut Salad (petite salade Quinoa Noix) from the Delhaize brand, 205 g, with the barcode: 5400119594998 and expiration dates ranging from 29/02/2024 until 09/03/2024. Sales period: 23/02/2024 to 06/03/2024. The product has been sold in Delhaize stores in Luxembourg. This product is at risk of a high content of aflatoxins. Aflatoxins are mycotoxins produced by certain species of Aspergillus molds that grow when the temperature and humidity of the food are high. Aflatoxins are considered genotoxic and carcinogenic by the European Food Safety Authority and can be dangerous at high and repeated consumption.

Sales period: 05/03/2024 to 08/03/2024 inclusive. The products have been distributed by different points of sale in Luxembourg. These products have been recalled over the potential presence of ceramic-type foreign bodies. ALVA noted that consumers may be at risk of suffocation or internal injury if they ingest a foreign body.
