Aztec, Heart of Europe Rugby;
The Heart of Europe Rugby Festival, including the Kick Cancer into Touch (KCIT) touch rugby tournament and the International Rugby 10s, is taking place this Saturday 25 August at the Stade Boy Konen in Luxembourg-Cessange.
So far, there are 10-12 corporate league teams registered for the KCIT charity corporate touch rugby tournament which is open to teams from local companies and teams of friends and families, and 6 rugby 10s teams, from Luxembourg, Italy, France, Scotland, Germany and Belgium.
Luxembourg-based fund and corporate services provider, the Aztec Group, is sponsoring the Heart of Europe Rugby Festival, starting at 10:00 on Saturday.
A community event open to the general public, The Heart of Rugby Festival aims to raise much-needed funds for local Luxembourg charity Kick Cancer into Touch, which supports organisations such as Omega Haus, who care for people fighting the disease and the researchers who are exploring new treatments. The charity was initially founded in 2001 as a tribute to former rugby player Tim Shepard and in memory of Dr Jess Lister, who lost their battles with cancer. In the 17 years since it was formed, over €170,000 has been raised.
