Rocklab is organising its seventh edition of Rock Tools, on Saturday 29 October 2016 in Esch-Belval.
Whether you’re a rookie or an experienced musician, Rock Tools will meet your expectations thanks to a wide range of intensive trainings for electric guitar, bass, drums and vocals. Meanwhile, the Rockhal will be hosting the Musikbazar - an instrument and music fair - for the first time. The day will end with an exclusive concert featuring the stunning Yolanda Charles (Hans Zimmer, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson) on bass, Jamiroquai's guitarist Rob Harris and talented drummer Gergo Borlai.
During Rock Tools, all styles from rock to metal, including pop, will be honoured during workshops, masterclasses and live demos offered by local and international high-profile musicians.

Thus, for this seventh edition, Rocklab welcomes Yolanda Charles, already known to some as the extraordinary live bass player who performed with Hans Zimmer at the Rockhal in May and has worked with artists such as BB King, Eric Clapton or Michael Jackson. Other special guests include Rob Harris, guitarist of the legendary Jamiroquai, and Gergo Borlai, a fabulous jazz-fusion drummer. On the nerdy side, the Luxemburgish math-rock band Mutiny on the Bounty will offer a masterclass specially dedicated to exploring their sound universe, while the extreme vocal coach David Féron will introduce you to the arcane features of the saturated voice and to metal vocals. As for bluesman Remo Cavallini, he will discuss playing technique and sound when it comes to blues guitar.
Instrument & Music Fair:
Playing techniques being worthless without the corresponding instrument, the a.s.b.l. Musikbazar and Rocklab have decided to hit two targets with one bullet by supplementing this day with the Musikbazar, the traditional local instrument and music fair. Co-organised by Musikbazar a.s.b.l. and Rocklab, this fair is aimed at music amateurs of all levels and ages eager to buy, sell or barter secondhand or vintage musical instruments and equipment but also sheet music, books, magazines, and records. Indeed, over the past, Musikbazar has welcomed yearly around 100 exhibitors and 1200 visitors. Finally, a range of information stands by organizations such as the Sacem or the UGDA, concert venues, production studios, local craftsmen as well as demos by the Rock Tools tutors complete the offer.
Exclusive Show:
Then, finishing off the day, Yolanda Charles, Rob Harris and Gergo Borlai will perform a concert exploring a resolutely groovy repertoire in which genius and improvisation meet and make one, set to a jazz, funk and soul backdrop. Furthermore, the audience will be offered an exclusive band clinic on top, taking place just before the concert!
