Den Atelier today reported that the Supertramp show, originally scheduled for 5 December 2015, has been cancelled due to health issues concerning founder, vocalist and keyboardist of the band, Rick Davies.

The concert, due to take place at the Rockhal in Esch/Alzette, formed part of the 'Supertramp Forever' European Tour, all of the dates of which have been cancelled due to the aggressive treatment Rick Davies is reportedly receiving following a diagnosis of multiple myeloma, a bone marrow cancer.

In an offical statement, Rick Davies said: "I was really looking forward to returning to Europe and playing with the band again and I’m sorry to disappoint everyone who has overwhelmingly supported the upcoming tour. Unfortunately my current health issues have derailed me and right now I need to focus all of my energy on getting well."

Supertramp started in the 1970s and reached number 1 in the United States and Canada with 1979 album 'Breakfast in America'. The band has achieved international recognition and acclaim, and Davies is the only member of the group to have been with Supertramp throughout its entire history.

Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase, with tickets bought on www.atelier.lu to be automatically refunded on the credit card account.
