Big Four company KPMG has announced that it is developing its new headquarters in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

KPMG confirmed that it has come to an agreement with the promoter BPI Real Estate to purchase the Kronos building - which has served as the headquarters of BGL BNP Paribas since 1995 - and its 3.23-hectare site in Luxembourg-Kirchberg. KPMG will occupy 31,000 m2 of the site, with the new headquarters expected to include a coworking space and a food court. BPI Real Estate will develop another 24,658 m2 for mixed use purposes.

KPMG Luxembourg currently has 1,800 employees and its current headquarters are located nearby in Kirchberg at 39 Avenue John F Kennedy. The Kronos building will be torn down in early 2026, with KPMG planning to move into its new premises on the site in 2029.

"We're not just announcing our intentions, we're realising our ambitions. This project will enable us to shape the work environment of the future," commented David Capocci, Managing Partner at KPMG Luxembourg. "We're planning to create a modern, flexible and sustainable workplace, which will encourage connection, collaboration and innovation."

The new building, which will be built of wood, will be subject to a European architecture competition, organised in the second half of 2023. It will be constructed in compliance with European taxonomy and environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards, assured KPMG.
