On Wednesday, 25 new moderate-cost homes were inaugurated at Rue des Lilas and rue de la Lavande in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
The Société Nationale des Habitations à Bon Marché (SNHBM), in conjunction with the Ville de Luxembourg, the latter providing the former with the land (41.06 acres) on a 99-year long lease, which have been sold on to purchasers in the same form.
4 different low-energy designs were constructed, with the 3-bedroom homes completed apart from fitting the kitchens and painting the interior walls. All homes are between 125 m2 and 139 m2. 95% of those purchasing the new homes have benefitted from a state construction grant of around €48k, going towards the purchase price which ranges between €434,000 and €475,000 (3% VAT included).
