Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL, has announced details of the rail routes which will be impacted in 2026 as a result of ongoing works to maintain and upgrade the Grand Duchy’s rail network.
The CFL said: “After 254 days of works dedicated in 2025 to tomorrow’s mobility, CFL will continue its commitment in 2026 so that rail can continue to serve as the backbone of public transport in Luxembourg and the Greater Region. To ensure the safety and rapid delivery of interventions by CFL and its subcontractors, train services will need to be suspended on various lines.”
The CFL confirmed that the majority of the works will be carried out during school holidays and at weekends, which are regarded as periods of lower passenger numbers on trains and when the buses required to operate replacement services are available.
