On Tuesday 18 November 2025, the Grand Ducal Police confirmed that a fatal accident occurred near Dommeldange train station the previous evening.

The accident took place on Monday 17 November 2025 at around 18:30, when a pedestrian was struck by a train. Emergency services pronounced the 55-year-old victim dead at the scene. The public prosecutor's office was informed and commissioned the accident investigation unit to conduct an investigation. An autopsy has been requested.

Prior to the police report, at around 18:45 on Monday, the CFL national railway company announced that trains on line 10 between Luxembourg and Mersch were suspended in both directions, following an incident requiring emergency services intervention in Dommeldange. The CFL set up a replacement bus service for passengers and stated that its teams, together with the emergency services, were working on-site to restore rail traffic as quickly as possible.

Shortly before 20:00, the CFL reported that train service on line 10 was gradually resuming, although some delays and cancellations were still possible.
