Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL, has reported that a planned strike in France is set to cause travel disruption on Thursday 5 December 2024.

Due to a national civil service strike announced in France, train traffic between France and Luxembourg will be "severely disrupted" throughout the day.

According to information provided by the SNCF (France's national railway company), train traffic on the Luxembourg – Thionville – Metz line will be severely disrupted in both directions. However, trains on the Luxembourg – Bascharage-Sanem – Rodange – Longwy line will continue to operate.

The TGV service from Luxembourg to France (and vice versa) is also expected to be severely disrupted on Thursday.

The CFL has advised passengers to check the status of trains before travelling to or from France online at www.cfl.lu or via the CFL mobile application.
