Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL, announced that rail traffic in both directions from Germany will be disrupted from this Wednesday 6 to Friday 8 March 2024.

The CFL noted that, due to a strike by the German union GDL (Gewerkschaft Deutscher Lokomotivführer), train traffic to and from Germany will be disrupted between Wednesday and Friday 2024.

The first impacts on rail traffic to Germany are expected this evening, Wednesday 6 March 2024. Four trains will be cancelled from Luxembourg, namely Luxembourg - Wittlich (departures at 19:10 and 20:10) and Luxembourg - Trier (departures at 22:33 and 23:33).

Regional trains (RB trains), including trains to Wittlich, will only run between Luxembourg and Wasserbillig on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 March 2024.

Express regional trains (RE trains) in the direction of Koblenz/Düsseldorf will continue to operate between Luxembourg and Trier.

The resumption of normal traffic is scheduled for Saturday 9 March 2024, but slight disruptions cannot be ruled out, the CFL stressed.

Updated details will be available on the website www.cfl.lu or via the CFL mobile application during this time.
