On Tuesday 29 August 2023, St George’s International School in Luxembourg-Hamm confirmed that its students had received their IGCSE, AS Level and A-Level examination results.

Students in Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 achieved what the school described as “excellent” results in their IGCSE, AS and A-Level exams. The graduating students of 2023 have accepted places at universities in the UK, the US and across Europe. These include seven Russell Group universities – University of Nottingham, University of Bristol, Durham University, University of Sheffield, University College London (UCL), University of Glasgow and University of Oxford – and other prestigious universities, such as the University of St Andrew’s (UK), Maastricht University (Netherlands) and Boston College (US).

A-Level results: St George’s students achieved a 99% pass rate. 57% of entries were graded A* (the highest grade possible) or A and 95% of students achieved a grade C or above.

AS Level Results: 75% of entries were graded A or B, and 85% of examination papers achieved a grade C or above. 62% of students taking AS Levels received the highest grade possible: A (at AS, there is no A* grade available).

IGCSE Results: A total of 408 IGCSE entries were submitted in eighteen subjects. 41% of students achieved grades of 9 or 8 and 96% of all entries were graded 9 to 4. These students will now progress to Year 12 where they will study their chosen AS level subjects.

St George’s Principal, Dr Christian Barkei, said the results reflected both hard work and support from staff and families. “These results and the efforts of the students, staff and families allow them to progress to the next stage of their school or professional career. My thanks go to all involved! Well done,” he said.
