
On Wednesday 19 March 2025, Sweden’s Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, and Minister for European Union (EU) Affairs, Jessica Rosencrantz, travelled to Luxembourg for a working visit.
A press release, issued by Luxembourg’s Ministry of State and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, reported that Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Luc Frieden welcomed Prime Minister Kristersson and Minister Rosencrantz for a working meeting, during which they discussed bilateral relations between Luxembourg and Sweden and their potential for further strengthening.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on current European and international political affairs, Ukraine, European security and the main topics on the agenda of the European Council meeting on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 March 2025 in Brussels.
Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, held a bilateral meeting with Minister Rosencrantz. Discussions were reported to focus on the enlargement process and the European Union's Multiannual Financial Framework. Both ministers emphasised the importance of the rule of law within the EU and the need to defend united European positions on current international issues.
Prime Minister Kristersson also had an audience with Luxembourg’s Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume at the Grand Ducal Palace.
In addition, Prime Minister Kristersson and Minister Rosencrantz met with the President and Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Nadia Calviño and Thomas Östros.
