Luxembourg Foreign and European Affairs Minister Jean Asselborn will tomorrow deliver a speech on the death penalty at the 40th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
On the occasion of the ministerial segment of the 40th session of the Human Rights Council, Minister Asselborn will deliver a speech at the Palais des Nations in which he will outline the human rights priorities of the Luxembourg government. The head of Luxembourg diplomacy will also deliver a speech at the high-level meeting on the issue of the death penalty.
At the joint invitation of the Swiss and Swedish governments, Minister Asselborn will also participate in the Donors' Conference for Yemen. The purpose of the UN-led conference is to provide an opportunity for the international community to make commitments in response to humanitarian needs related to the crisis in Yemen.
Minister Asselborn will also meet with the Director General of the World Trade Organisation, Roberto Azevêdo, during this visit.
