In a cabinet meeting on Wednesday 19 October, hosted by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Ministers adopted the bill approving the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and its Member States with the Republic of Kazakhstan, signed in Astana on 21 December 2015. The agreement formalises the economic and political relations between the EU and the Republic of Kazakhstan, based on an association agreement to further develop political and economic ties between the two regions.
The Governing Council also adopted the draft Grand Ducal Regulation fixing the maximum compensation amounts for certain victims of crime resulting in personal injury. The levels will be fixed for the whole of 2017 at a maximum of €63,000.
