On 19 October 2016, the Deputy Prime Minister of China and member of the political bureau of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Kai Ma, was in Luxembourg on a working visit.
Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Xavier Bettel welcomed the Chinese politician with a meeting in the Hotel de Bourgogne.
During the visit, the two politicians discussed bilateral relations as well as relations between China and the European Union, and the current international political agenda.
The Chinese Deputy Prime Minister was also received by His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Luxembourg.
