On the evening of Thursday, 29 September, the Embassy of the United States and EY Luxembourg co-hosted a panel discussion event on the U.S. presidential election campaign at EY headquarters in Kirchberg.

After an introductory speech from Alain Kinsch, Country Managing Partner of EY Luxembourg, and U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg David McKean, the event, “U.S. Elections 2016: An Inside View,” featured two American communications and campaign strategy experts with vast experience reporting on and working for American political campaigns.

Jonathan Alter, an award-winning journalist and best-selling author, shared his thoughts alongside Michael Meehan, a communications expert who has previously worked on congressional and presidential campaigns. Moderator Sascha Bremer, currently Market Intelligence Adviser at Luxembourg for Finance, and former deputy managing editor at Tageblatt, deftly solicited insights from the panelists while managing a stimulating back-and-forth discussion.

In front of a full house of highly engaged guests from business, Luxembourg government, and European institutions, Jonathan Alter and Michael Meehan provided insiders’ perspectives on the race to the White House and the influence of the media and economic forces.
